Cynthia Rowden

3rd Grade

Hello! My name is Cindy Rowden and I am the third grade teacher here at KCS. I began
teaching in 1987 after receiving a Bachelor of Science in Education degree from Sul Ross
State University. During the time since I have taught in K, 1, 3rd and 6th. I was also a
Curriculum Specialist before our family relocated to the Dallas area.
This is my 7th year at KCS and I am most grateful to the Lord for allowing me the privilege
of teaching our sweet kids. It had been a dream of mine to be able to teach in a Christian
school and He blessed me with this most precious gift!
Children are an inspiration and I love the energy and excitement they bring to my
classroom on a daily basis! I am fascinated to watch them create, learn, apply, and find
answers to their questions and mine. Most of all, I love watching them grow in their
knowledge and love of the Lord.
I am married to my love and best friend, Mark. Mark is in law enforcement and is Police
Chief for a neighboring school district. We have been married 37 year, have 2 beautiful
boys, Chrystopher and Jonathyn, and 3 pups we love dearly.
During my free time I enjoy glamping, cooking, reading, “playing” in my plants, and crafting
when I can.
What a privilege it is to serve the Lord here at Kaufman Christian School!

  • 1   pkg 8 count tab dividers (without pockets)
  • 1   12” ruler with centimeters (no flexible rulers, please)
  • 1   pair Fiskar’s scissors (pointed, student size)
  • 1   handheld pencil sharpener
  • 1   box 12 colored pencils
  • 1 box 24 count Crayola Crayons
  • 2   large glue stick (or 4 small)
  • 3   composition notebooks
  • 6   black pens (with caps on the end)
  • 3   yellow hi-lighters
  • 1   pkg of pencil top erasers
  • 1   pkg #2 pencils (Ticonderoga recommended)
  • 1   pkg Crayola Washable Markers (8 ct)
  • 1   wide ruled 70 page spiral notebook
  • 2  boxes Kleenex
  • 1   NIV Bible, paperback (not children’s or youth)
  • 2   reams white copy paper (500 count each)
  • 1   zipper pouch for binder
  • 1   pkg of 4 fat dry erase markers
  • 1   supply box (regular size, not large)
  • $10.00 for music recorder (if you do not have one)
  • $10.00 for personal math kit

Backpacks and lunch boxes must be generic. They may have designs or be multi-colored, but we ask that they not promote any advertisements of any other school, movie, TV, or cartoon character, business, or organization. The backpack’s brand name, such as Jansport, L.L. Bean, Champion, etc. is acceptable as long as it is not a design.
